I am teaching at Disney in January of 2017! And you can come and take classes with me, or any of the other amazing folks who are teaching classes at this amazing retreat hosted by the folks from Ross Farm.

Custom classes are always available for your shop or event. Workshop length and content can be modified to best fit your customer base. Classes can also be tailored to custom designs for your shop or event – teaching students all the specific skills and tricks needed to complete the project.

HOW TO READ & CREATE KNITTING CHARTS
Length - 3 hours
Skill Level - Intermediate
Prerequisites - Students should be comfortable knitting from written instructions, including lace and cables.
Description - This workshop will teach you how to read charts and understand how they relate to written instructions. Instruction will include common chart symbols, learning how to read repeats, and understanding how charts represent the knitting. Students will also learn to convert written instructions into charts.


FANCY FINISHES FOR KNITTED LACE
Length - 3 hours
Skill Level - Intermediate
Prerequisites - Students should be comfortable with basic knitting skills.
Description - This workshop will teach a variety of ways to bind off and finish top down lace shawls and shawlettes. Techniques included will include but not be limited to: lace bind-offs, extra stretchy bind-offs, picot bind-offs, crochet loop bind-offs, and manipulating the last few rows of knitting to provide extra stretch for dramatic lace edgings.


SIDEWAYS SHAWLS AT ANY GAUGE
Length - 3 hours
Skill Level - Intermediate
Prerequisites - Students should be comfortable with basic knitting skills.
Description - This workshop will teach students how to take sideways shawl patterns and use them at any gauge. Students will learn how to weigh yarn and make adjustments to patterns to allow them to make the most of their yarn.


DESIGN YOUR OWN LACE MOTIF
Length - 3 hours
Skill Level - Intermediate
Prerequisites - Students should be comfortable knitting from charts.
Description - This workshop will teach you how to create your own custom lace motif or how to modify existing motifs to your liking. Students will learn how stitches flow in charts and how to make their knitting do what they want.


CRESCENT SHAWLS WITH SHORT ROW SHAPING
Length - 3 hours
Skill Level - Intermediate
Prerequisites - Students should be comfortable with basic knitting skills. The practice for this class is worked mostly in garter stitch.
Description - This workshop will teach you how to use short row shaping in crescent shaped shawls. Students will learn a custom cast-on for crescent shawls and a variety of short-row techniques for shaping including yarnover turns and Japanese short-rows. Students will leave with a copy of the Jovia Shawlette and the skills to complete it.

DESIGN YOUR OWN SIDEWAYS KNITTED SHAWLS
Length - 4-6 hours
Skill Level - Advanced
Prerequisites - Students should be comfortable knitting from charts and be prepared to create their own charts for their own design.
Description - This workshop will teach how to create your own sideways knitted shawl. We will take sideways lace edgings and turn them into an entire shawl design with pencil, graph paper, yarn and needles. Students will leave with their own shawl design on the needles!
