Debouillet

Debouillet is finally available for individual purchase! It's the last of the Seven Sheep, and I think one of the prettiest. I adore the way the lattice body forms such sweeping lines on the crescent shaped construction. And as usual I made sure to make sure the lattice flowed perfectly into the garland like lace edging. Debouillet is worked from the top down with my favorite pretty cast-on. The lattice body pattern lends itself perfectly to short-row shaping, which was a very pleasant surprise! it makes me so happy when an idea in my hands translates so nicely to knitted fabric.

Despite it's very fancy appearance, it turns out to be easier than it looks. The short-row patterning is so simple that it doesn't even require charts. And once you fully transition into the lace every WS row is an easy purl back row. The lace edging is given in charted and written instructions.

Debouillet is worked up in one skein of Baah! La Jolla in London Blue. I finished this shawl in the week leading up to the 50th Doctor Who anniversary special - and I kept thinking it was the perfect TARDIS blue.
